Exploring The Island: A Week In Review
I went here / this is what I thought about it: - The Cubby Hole Bar / Cozy, nicely decorated, UBER crowded post-happy hour on a Tuesday night. - RF Lounge / ULTRA boring, gross whiskey, angry-looking DJ, cold dance floor. Nice bathroom though. - The Stonewall Inn / Mediocre, odd crowd (old regulars, young bi-curious hipsters), billiards if you’re into that. - Art Bar / LOVE. Cozy,...

The Spectacular Ms. Hedda Lettuce  →
I just saw her show on Sunday night at the Metropolitan Room. My friends have spoken volumes about her but I’d never had a chance to experience the show myself. It is AMAZING. I laughed myself into a stupor, made friends with the crowd, purchased a shirt and CD and met Hedda herself! Go, go, go. You will NOT regret it! Fabulous show with catchy songs and amazing on-the-spot jokes. Love.

Hiatus.
I’ve been sucked back onto The Island temporarily to take care of a certain Manhattan foster pup I know. THEN, I stayed on The Island because my dad came into Le City to celebrate his B’day. THEN, I stayed here because I’ve become obsessed with Desperate Housewives. Life is tough. In other news, heading back home with the pup on the subway for the first time - this should be...

Himalaya Teahouse.
After a long, frigidly cold walk to Astoria Park with the dog (where we met many a gorgeous and friendly sweater-clad pup), we headed to a local tea / wine / beer / dumpling joint: Himalaya Teahouse. It’s CHEAP, delicious and perfect for this season. They have an amazing selection and staff are insanely friendly and honest. Between the three of us (two friends, not my dog) we split two...

First day in Astoria
Went to Hot Vinyasa yoga here: Yoga To The People Amazing. Moved into my new place in Astoria. So far I’m convinced it’s haunted and the landlord is living downstairs which makes me tiptoe a bunch. Great neighborhood, though! “Adjusting” sucks.
